The Sara Home is a place for children with special needs. Abandoned children with autism, cerebral palsy and other disabilities are given support for a life time.
They receive good shelter, food and education according to their abilities. Aunty Kusuma started the J127 club at this home. She had to change the way she taught to make the lessons suitable for the children there. Though it takes a long time to finish a Unit, the results are amazing.
Anitha is one of the older girls who is a little more capable than the others. She has her sense of justice which means beating up other girls if they misbehaved with her. Navya who is mentally challenged was always at the receiving end. She had a bad habit of throwing dirt in Anitha’s plate just before she had her meal.
Last month Aunty Kusuma taught them from the second Unit a Lesson called Life after Death. This caught Anitha’s attention. She began asking lot of questions to the Aunty Kusuma and also care takers. This lesson brought a difference in her. She told Aunty that she wanted to be in Heaven with Jesus after Death. She came to understand and accepted Jesus as her personal savior. She also asked her caretakers if she could take baptism. Anitha was baptized recently. She now lives with the hope that she will live with Jesus after this life on earth.
The amazing change is that even though Navya still throws dirt in her food, Anitha is teaching her not to. She has blossomed into a beautiful elder sister.
