The Guatemalan government has opened up doors for The Story of Jesus booklet to be used in public schools as history and values education. Thousands of children are hearing the Gospel, many for the first time.
David C Cook has joined with the Guatemalan Church and a partner foundation to distribute one million copies of The Story of Jesus to children throughout the country. The booklet is a 16-24-page evangelistic booklet hand drawn by famed comic book artist, Sergio Cariello.
“We are reaching children in the most remote villages of Guatemala who have never had a textbook, children from the dumps in Guatemala City, disabled and deaf children, children rescued by the courts because of physical and sexual abuse, children of parents in gangs and the drug addicted, children from all walks of life and every economic status,” said a representative of a partner foundation.
To follow up on this evangelistic movement among youth, 175,000 copies of The Action Bible New Testament are being placed in the hands of pastors, teachers, lay people and missionaries across the country. The goal is to disciple children who’ve made decisions for Jesus.
“We are humbled by the Lord entrusting us to be a part of this great movement of the Spirit of God and the Word of God throughout Guatemala,” said a partner foundation. We can take no credit as we are amazed by the overflowing power of the Holy Spirit and miracles God is doing in our nation. Thank you to David C Cook for giving us a tool to equip the saints for the work of ministry.”
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Guatemala, that God would continue to provide them with much wisdom… that His Spirit would be strong, and that the doors would stay open for them to reach this next generation.
