From Uganda to Nations Next Door – Part 2

Recently, we wrote about how God is doing something so amazing among the children of Uganda that even the country’s president sees the potential. He said: We could have a different country in two generations. If you need to, you can quickly catch up on Part 1 of this update.

To the Nations Next Door

Now, word is spreading about the groundbreaking new children’s ministry in Uganda. Christian leaders in a dozen other African nations have contacted David C Cook and are ready to invest in their churches’ ministry to children.

For example, the curriculum team for the nation of Mali reports that they are nearly finished editing the lessons to make them applicable to children there. Soon, “train the trainer” meetings will begin to equip the country’s churches.

This children’s ministry initiative currently reaches a total of 6.8 million children in Africa—and the number is increasing as we actively work to develop additional partnerships. We are advancing as quickly as funding allows, combining the investment of David C Cook with the contributions of our ministry partner and donors.

Beyond the potential for Uganda to become a different country, by God’s grace, the good news of the gospel has the power to transform a new generation in these countries too.

Prayer Request

Effectively equipping the global Church in Africa means equipping many local congregations—so partners in this project have committed to a “train the trainer” approach. David C Cook serves in initial training of church ministry leaders who can then train Sunday school teachers.

Please pray for our project teams to identify additional primary trainers—especially African church leaders who are gifted to serve in this way as the ministry is spreading.
