800 students from King’s Christian College (Australia’s largest K-12 Christian Academy) were so moved by the impact that the Story of Jesus is having on children worldwide that they decided to do a fundraiser to distribute even more. Together they raised enough money to reach another 20,000 kids their own age.

Studies show that more than 80% of all Christians came to faith between the ages of 4 and 14. David C Cook developed this appealing pictorial evangelism tool to reach children within this age bracket. It portrays the story of the life of Jesus through comic-style illustrations taken from the award-winning Action Bible illustrated by famed artist Sergio Cariello who’s talents are displayed in Marvel and DC Comics. Growing up in Brazil, Sergio developed his faith as a child through reading the original Picture Bible from David C Cook.

Peter Malcolm, King’s Christian College Chaplain, says he carried a burden to reach young people for Christ for more than 20 years. After seeing the Action Bible and hearing David C Cook’s vision to place the Story of Jesus in the hands of every one of the world’s 1.2 billion 4-14 aged non-Christian, he wanted to be a part of the initiative. That’s when he and the students of KCC decided on a fundraiser to do their part for this worldwide vision.

For weeks I have been visiting your organization’s website, [reading] about this move of God and asking the Lord to use us further in what is obviously a worldwide call to action,

Peter Malcolm told us.

I have not been able to get the numbers 4-14 out of my head! We believe the Lord is leading us to DO ALL WE CAN for 4-14ers, including going beyond the boundaries of what we already do in our own school.

The Story of Jesus came out less than one year ago and is already translated into 11 different languages. During 2011, more than 15 million copies went into circulation in 29 countries. Requests for more translations and countries are coming in every week. Since parents are cautious about what their children are reading, adults are getting the message too and choosing to follow Christ.

Because of the huge volume being produced, the cost to print these booklets is only about ten cents per copy, making it easier and more affordable than ever to put the gospel into the hands of interested families all over the world. Your giving can blanket an entire city. Some donors have given enough to distribute throughout an entire country. Young people in Australia enthusiastically caught the vision. Have you?
